Brian Patrick Tollberg (born September 16, 1972 in Tampa, Florida) is a retired Major League Baseball player who played pitcher from –. He played for the San Diego Padres. Tollberg began his career with Chillicothe in the independent Frontier League before signing with Milwaukee in 1995. He was the first player to make it to the Major Leagues from the Frontier League and the league's version of the Cy Young Award is named after him. He made it to the majors in June 2000 with San Diego and finished with a 4–5 record with a 3.58 ERA. He earned National League Player of the Week honors his first week in the Major Leagues. The following season he won 10 games with a 4.30 ERA before being injured. He played two more seasons for the club. He later played in the Colorado Rockies and Houston Astros organizations at Triple-A level and also pitched in the independent Atlantic League of Professional Baseball in 2008.
